Greek Gyros

We have found a new place with good food. Since we enjoy having a gyro once in a while, hopefully, the place will stay in business for a long time. The restaurant is small, traditional, Greek, home-like food is served there. The gyro plate is so enjoyable!

Real Mexican Tacos

Some time ago, we visited (for the first time) Real Mexican Taco place which had been recommended to us. We had never eaten real Mexican tacos before, so we decided to have some.

The interior of the diner was simple but clean. Mexican (recorded) music was played there. Very soon after we entered and sat down at the table, a waitress appeared. She took our order and brought us a complimentary entree - warm, crispy chips accompanied by queso and salsa. The little cup of queso was a nice surprise - at other food places only salsa is usually served.

After a short while, our tacos arrived. Surprisingly, they were totally different to Tex-Mex tacos which we are used to. What each of us got on big (plastic) plates you can see below. There were two small flour tortillas, slices of grilled pork, pieces of grilled pineapple, some pieces of red onion, diced onion with cilantro, grilled green pepper and some lime (while you make an order, you can specify what you want with your tacos). Besides that, two kinds of hot sauce were served as well.

The food looked nice and tasted really good! The meal seemed pleasantly light in comparison to Tex-Mex tacos. Despite that, we were quite full when we finished eating it all. The visit at the place was quite satisfying. Not only we enjoyed our lunch but it did not cost us much money as well. Both means a reason to come to the place again.

Before leaving the diner, we also took a couple of pictures of us disguised as Mexican mariachis. Next to the tables, on a side, there is a colorful 'put your head in a hole' board which you can use to do that. Some after meal fun for kids and grown-ups!

Family Lunch at Joe T's

Some time ago, we had a family lunch at Joe T Garcia's which is one of our favorite food places. It was a very enjoyable meeting and quite a feast too!

First, chips and salsa arrived on the table.

Then, cheese and beef tacos + nachos were served.

I love nachos at Joe T's but if I had had more than two, I would not have been be able to eat the main course.

More tacos came then + an enchilada plate and corn tortillas to share...

Great fajitas to follow...

Of all the family, only I like pico de gallo so it was all for me.

After the meal, a walk in the restaurant's backyard - beautiful gardens full of various plants, flowers, statues and other decorations.

We had a great time!
