Monday, 9th
The lady who used to be my principal has appeared in my dream this week. She came to our place to inform me, she was planning to inspect a class run by myself, on Monday, 9th. She also added that I had had enough free time to prepare myself. The principal gave me her note book with the plan and her notes regarding the inspection. Initially, when I looked at her inspection plan, it seemed to be written in German. Then, I saw it was in English. There was also another name mentioned. The principal was going to visit my class together with another lady, also an ex supervisor of mine. That lady, however, is no longer among us. She passed away many years ago.
In that dream, I thought that Monday, 9th would be in February. Later, when I woke up, I checked on the calendar. Monday, 9th really is in February this year. What is it that I am to prepare for? Certainly not a classroom inspection. Those days are long gone. I guess, I need to wait until Monday, 9th to see/understand the message. Perhaps it is nothing at all. Just another dream.

Happy New Year
Those guys came to us from Japan last October - a gift from Friends. The two ones were too cute to eat them so they lasted for quite a while. The cookies are gone, though.
Happy New Year! May it be Bobo good and peaceful.

Progresso Soups
We have tried quite a few soup brands and we finally decided the soups made by Progresso are the best. They taste like home made, which gives us a quick and rather inexpensive emergency-type meal. The soups by Progresso does not need extra fixing, but I still season them a bit, in my way.
We still haven't tasted all the soup kinds they make, we still have our favorite ones, though. The lentils soup is especially good when served with fresh corn bread.

Rudi
He came to Texas from Chicago. It was a gift from a granddaughter to her ailing grandpa.
Years later, we saw the bear for a very first time when a lady (grandpa's wife) brought Rudi for our church game. The bear was to be one of the bingo prizes and its name was different then.
We very much wanted to win him but another lady (of German descent) did, and took the guy home. We believed he was gone and we would never see him again.
Later, the lady who originally owned Rudi found out, the bingo winner had knitted him a costume and put the bear on sale at the Lutheran Fall Festival. Nobody bought him there so its original owner, grandpa's wife, got it back and brought to us. We named the bear Rudi and gave him the red hat to complete his German-like outfit. He is a great hugger and home Bobo protector.

It appeared our Rudi wanted to come to us and be part of our family. Yey!

Sign of Times
At first, I was shocked when I saw how much smaller those eyeshadows are these days. Well, I had not been to a Sephora place for ages. After reconsidering pros and contras, a few hours later, I did make a purchase there.
The eyeshadow is smaller. but either you buy it and have it, or you don't buy it, leave the store and don't have a fresh and new eyeshadow.

New Guy
A New Guy in the family. No, it's not our bike. Harley has been history already.
It seems, I missed posting a note about that Harley, the predecessor.

Goodbye Pierre
That was a good and reasonably priced brandy. The latter was a reason why we gave it a try. It seems the store quit ordering it. The same with our Gato Negro Cabernet Savignon.
What type of brandy would you recommend?

Peaches & Fruit Banditos
After a long, long time - another baking experiments.
I have been thinking of making a peach cobbler for some time. When, quite by accident, we got the fruit cobbler mix (the Rustling' Rob's Fruit Banditos), it was time to experiment again.
I follow the recipe given by the Fruit Banditos (used canned peaches) and the result was wonderful. Much better that I hoped for!
We "destroyed" it quite quickly.
Next time, I will try to use apricots instead of peaches.

Ribs Premiere
Home baked ribs for the first time. Some sliced onion, seasoning, some water + 90 minutes in the oven (375F), and they were ready.
The ribs were quite good - not much fat, lots of good meat on them.

Potato Cakes
When did you last have potato cakes? They work well as a side to a meat entry.
If you happen to have mashed potatoes leftovers, you can make them quite easily. Just add an egg, some flour, diced onion, salt, and pepper. Mix it all together. The dough will be a bit sticky, then the cakes will turn out best.
Put them with a spoon into a pan with hot oil, flatten the sticky dough and fry the potato cakes on both sides until they turn golden brown.
When the cakes are ready, put them for a little while on a plate with a paper towel (to drain the oil).
Serve with ketchup.
